Canvas on stretcher with black floating frame

This oil painting titled Autumn Song on the Lake presents a luminous landscape where the trees stand out within a warm and vibrant atmosphere. Autumn colours blend with the brightness of the lake, whose shades of blue and turquoise create a sense of calm and depth. The pictorial material is shaped through an expressive gesture that gives the landscape a living presence and a harmonious visual balance.

The artist   Catherine Chopinet develops a body of work in which nature becomes a space for contemplation and colour. Her practice of oil painting favours light, chromatic contrasts and a sensitive approach to landscape. Her work is guided by a search for balance between gestural expression and visual construction.

Decorative dimension   The vertical composition of the trees and the brightness of the lake create a soothing image that integrates naturally into a contemporary interior. Warm colours and blue reflections offer a strong decorative presence and help establish a gentle and luminous atmosphere.

Materials and technique   Oil painting on prepared canvas, worked with layered applications and visible brushstrokes that enrich the depth of the landscape. The palette combines yellows, oranges, greens and blues to create a chromatic harmony characteristic of the season.
