Jean-Guy LATTRAYE

Jean-Guy Lattraye is a French sculptor trained at the Villa Arson in Nice and holds a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the San Carles University in Valencia (Spain).
Through his sculptures on human organs and their perspective with mechanical elements, engines, electrical wires, the sculptor questions our relationship to the body and biotechnology. Should we see in these organs mixed with mechanical elements visions of horror or, on the contrary, a mise en abyme of the perspectives offered to us by the new technologies allowing this "augmented man" which can be a nightmare or a hope depending on the purpose that is given to him.

These organs are beautiful and aesthetic. By working them in noble materials such as marble or wood of sabine, Jean-Guy Lattraye transcends these organic representations in works at the same time attractive and interpellant even ontological.
