Frederic BRANDON

Frederic Brandon: A French Painter Between Figuration and Abstraction.

Frédéric Brandon is a French painter born on January 19, 1943, in Paris, recognized for his work in Narrative Figuration. After studying at the Académie Julian and the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts, he became a drawing professor and developed an artistic approach that constantly questions the nature of painting.

A Unique Style and Bold Pictorial Approach

Brandon’s work is based on a critical yet friendly dialogue with both past and contemporary painters. He employs a mixed technique, combining various materials and textures to enhance depth and color dynamics. His paintings convey a joy of painting, where spontaneity and constant reflections on framing and composition take center stage.

Some of his notable series include: Nature Culture (1982) ; Vive la Peinture de Chevalet (1988) ; Qu’est-ce que la Peinture? (2002)
